Talk About Freedom

Today’s session of the GABFEST speaking club (at Window on America center Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine) was dedicated to the topic «Freedom Day in the USA». We have read and translated an article about the background of this holiday. National Freedom day is celebrated on February, 1. The purpose of this holiday is to promote good feelings, harmony, and equal opportunity among all citizens and to remember that the United States is a nation dedicated to the ideal of freedom.
The club members answered a comprehensive list of questions about freedom. Each of them illustrated the answer with an example from his own life. Some people mostly used examples of political freedoms, other people managed to use very neutral examples.In the second part of the session we had introductions of new comers and regular club members. In spite of the frosty weather the session was attended by a big number of people. The WOA staff thanked them for the loyalty to the Club.
We hope that our American friends will attend the WOA’s events as soon as the weather improves.
