America center Dnipropetrovsk participated in the celebration of the CITY DAY.
Our facility was engaged in the
Fair of the Oblast Libraries in the
city’s central L. Globa park.
WOA center was represented as a department of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Universal Scientific Library(DOUNB).
We have informed all the visitors of the center about this event and
invited them to participate in the Libraries’
Fair. The fair stand of the WOA was very popular with the fair’s visitors.
The top ranking exhibits were – iPad and educational game for children “BOGGLE
Jr.”
We have invited our Peace Corp friends to attend the celebration and the
Libraries’ Fair. They have explored the exhibits of the DOUNB. The most
interesting for them was the local lore department book display about the
Dnipropetrovsk city. Dozens of exhibits with the unique photos of the city
caught their attention.
The provincial county libraries exhibited books and readers’ art display.
The stand with rustic household utensils
provided some educational value to our American friends. We had the opportunity
to explain to them how cloth was made and ironed in Ukrainian villages two
centuries ago.
One of the stands at the Fair allowed us to have some fun and wonderful
photos. Our Peace Corp friends looked very nice in traditional Ukrainian garments.
The Libraries’ Fair participation allowed the WOA Centre to promote its
activities to a wider audience of the city dwellers.
