Extreme sports – sky-diving

Today’s session of the Gabfest speaking club (at Window on America center Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine) continued the topic of “Knowledge and Science” in our life. The Headliner of the session was Ms. Vlada who volunteered to perform a biological experiment and check the ecological safety in the library building. Today Ms. Vlada made a presentation about her research. Vlada’s   experiment objective was to collect the pollen of the plants growing in the library and   check its from and shape. Alterations in pollen shape and size indicate   hazardous influence and possible danger to people. Vlada’s step-by-stem presentation about the experiment was quite interesting. The audience learned   new vocabulary and learned the DOUNB library premises could be called “green office”.
The second topic of the session was Extreme sports – sky-diving”. The group was given an article about a skydiving experiment in Dnipropetrovsk and was requested to render in into English. The Skydiving event in Dnipropetrovsk was directed by an American - Mr. BJ Worth. He is a famous sky-diver and Hollywood stunt men. He was an expert in the first tandem skydive of the ex-president George Bush. In Dnipropetrovsk Mr. BJ Worth directed a jump called “Sky Hopack”. The Club members explained to our American Guest Ms. Jackie the basic things about the Hopack dance and shared their thoughts about extreme sports.
The conversation drifted into the direction of extreme experiences in life. To draw the line to the session we asked the big group of the newcomers to introduce themselves.
The session was funny and educational.
