Shakespeare in Love and Theater

The meeting of American Teen Club was dedicated to the topic «Theater» (Dnipropetrovsk / Ukraine) for teenagers, who are willing to improve their English language, get to know about the United States and have a good time!
The meeting was lead by the FLEX alumni Hanna Akastjolova.
Participants watched a romance film Shakespeare in Love (1998) and discussed it. This movie is about a young Shakespeare, out of ideas and short of cash, meets his ideal woman and is inspired to write one of his most famous plays.
Everyone was engaged and practiced their speaking skills!

Shakespeare in Love

Window on America center Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine offered screening of the film Shakespeare in Love with Gwyneth Paltrow, Joseph Fiennes, Geoffrey Rush starring.
Shakespeare in Love is a 1998 British romantic comedy-drama film directed by John Madden, written by Marc Norman and playwright Tom Stoppard. The film depicts a love affair involving playwright William Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes) while he was writing the play Romeo and Juliet. The story is fiction, though several of the characters are based on real people. In addition, many of the characters, lines, and plot devices are references to Shakespeare's plays.
Shakespeare in Love won seven Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Actress (Gwyneth Paltrow), and Best Supporting Actress (Judi Dench).
After the screening the club members had an emotional discussion about the film.

Shakespeare in Love

In June 2012 Great Britain has a row of Special Days. On June, 5, 2012 the UK celebrates The Queen's Diamond Jubilee – the 60th anniversary of Elisabeth II‘s coronation. On June, 16, 2012  the Queen's official birthday celebrations will take place.

The second week of June at the WOA Dnipropetrovsk  is dedicated to  paying  tribute to Her Majesty  as one of the most popular monarchs of the world.

The Book display about London will be offered to the visitors of the WOA center.

The Movie Club on 06.06 will present the American movie “Shakespeare in Love”.

The English Speaking Club session on June, 09 will be discussing the phenomenon of the British Monarchy and will give a deeper insight into world known British tradition – The Afternoon Tea Ceremony.
