"Window on America" Center Dnipropetrovsk completes its project of collaboration with students of the National Mining University «From mines to art heights».
American lecturer at the Dnipropetrovsk National Mining University – Mr. Brian Chang – spent 10 months in our city. During all this time he encouraged students to visit the library and participate in its activities. He particularly recommended the WOA’s film collection and screening of the best American movies.
During today’s visit the NMU students watched iconic adventure film about the time travel «Back to the Future» (1985).
Mr. Brian stopped the film on a regular basis to explain to the students American idioms and cultural phenomena presented in the movie. He also asked questions on the content of the film to check the students’ comprehension.
We hope for further cooperation with the Mining University students and lecturers!

Within the framework of the “From mines to art heights” project the "Window on America" Center (Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine) was visited by the group of National Mining University students majoring in IT studies. The group was accompanied by the English language lecturer - Mr. Brian Chung, the Fulbright academic exchange lecturer from New York.
The WOA Center premises were used as a site for an out-of-class training session. The freshmen continued to watch and discuss an American movie Star Wars, IV. A New Hope.

The Terminal is a 2004 American romantic comedy film directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones. It is about a man who becomes trapped in New York City's JFK International Airport terminal when he is denied entry into the United States and at the same time cannot return to his native country due to a revolution. The film is partially inspired by the 18-year-stay of Mehran Karimi Nasseri in Terminal 1 of Charles de Gaulle International Airport, Paris, France from 1988 to 2006.
