Useful information for those wishing to study in the United States is presented at Dnipro Window on America center. Colorful brochure display of promo materials kindly sent to WOA by American universities is offered to the patrons. It reminds the "Window on America" visitors about the opportunity to study in the USA, a chance to receive a scholarship, a possibility to travel to the USA during summer holidays.
Today a big group of WOA’s patrons took part in a session attended by “EDUCATION USA” representative – Ms. Kateryna. She made a concise, but informative presentation in front of a big audience – DOUNB library’s patrons who improve their English language skills with WOA’s free resources and the WOA’s staff instructions.
Young people asked Ms. Kateryna further questions about the chances to continue studies in the USA. Maybe someone from the audience is now one step closer to his dream – to study in the USA.

The "Window on America" Center (Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine) presented a display of promotional materials about American universities. WOA’s visitors, clubs’ members and those who want to get tertiary education in the US can learn more about the best educational institutions, the registration procedures, entrance exams timing, tuition fees system, and the possibility of obtaining educational grants for Ukrainians.
To the International Education Week a book display «If you want to study in the USA» was organized as an illustration to the educational opportunities in the USA.
The world known programs for academic and professional exchange were introduced on display - the Fulbright Program, IREX, the Humphrey fellowship.
The WOA Dnipropetrovsk continues its project “Study in USA”.
On May, 31 the centre was visited by a group of students from the National Metallurgical Academy. Their major was “Technical Translation”. The Academy’s English language lecturer Mrs. Oleksandra Myrgorodska is a long-time partner of the Window on America.
The theme of the lecture was “Education in the USA”. The WOA head Svitlana Usenko informed the students about the educational system of the United States and formalities for the students who decide to study there. Numerous paper based resources were presented to the group: brochures of the universities, reference books on majors, exchange programs, tests’ preparation manuals, etc .
The WOA staff member Tamara Gavryliuk has demonstrated a graph about the Educational system of the USA. Several videos from the “Education USA” You Tube channel were demonstrated.
The students listened to the CIS students interviews about the Opportunity Grants. Other videos explained the benefits of studying in the USA. While watching these videos with English subtitles the students practiced their auditing skills, enriched their vocabulary with a dozen of new terms relating to the topic “Post-secondary Education”, and learned new things about American educational culture.
The library books on translation theory, technical translation and interpreting were also presented to the group.
This educational, illustrated with visual aids session was thoroughly enjoyed by the future translators.

The WOA Dnipropetrovsk continues its project “Discover USA”.
On April, 26 the centre was visited by a group of senior students from the secondary school # 23. This school is a long-time partner of the Window on America.
The theme of the lecture was “Education in the USA”. The WOA head Svitlana Usenko informed the students about the educational system of the United States and formalities for the students who decide to study there. Numerous paper based resources were presented to the group: brochures of the universities, reference books on majors, exchange programs, tests’ preparation manuals, etc.
