International Fact-Checking Day.This afternoon the Gabfests session (Window on America center, Dnipro, Ukraine) had a complicated task – to draw attention of the club members to the importance of verifying the information and its sources.
We focused on the basic strategies of fact evaluations and introduced the basic terms used in the exposure of fake news - bot, bot net, troll, spam, etc. The educational videos helped to illustrate the topic and introduce the new terms. Our US volunteer Mrs. Tamara provided explanations for difficult terms or notions.
The session was educational for all the participants of the session.
Participants number – 30 persons.
