A unique surprise gift for Dnipro WOA

"Window on America" Center Dnipro received a unique surprise gift. Last year we sent some small size souvenirs to be taken to the International Space Station by Colonel Breznik. Among those souvenirs was a 2017 calendar with the WOA Dnipro’s logo.
The Calendar visited the International Space Station and returned back to WOA Dnipro. Colonel R. Breznik issued us a unique “Certificate of authenticity” for the “space travelling” calendar. We were amazed.
Event participants number – 400 people.

Students meet a unique guest at the DOUNB library – NASA astronaut Randolph Breznik

Colonel Randolph Breznik's busy schedule in Dnipro city allowed some time for a visit to the "Window on America" Information and Resource Center.  The Center welcomes all who need help to improve English language skills, to learn more about the United States or wish to share their success story in English.
The first group that greeted the NASA Astronaut was high school students from schools No. 23, 22, 39 of Dnipro city and the town of Tsarychanka. During this incentive visit they had a unique opportunity to ask Colonel Breznik questions, get his autographs or selfies with him.

The Other Side of Paradise

For photography art fans and all patrons the DOUNB Library launched an exhibition of works by Mariana Glynska.
The exhibition’s title is "The Other Side of Paradise". Black and white photos Alina made in 2009 when she had been studying Visual Arts in a University in Philadelphia, USA.  They are united by one topic – the life of African-Americans in Philadelphia suburbs.
The author’s biography: Maryana Glynska was born in Western Ukraine. In 2009 she won the Fulbright scholarship for studying art professionally in the United States. In 2012 she graduated from the University of Texas and received a Master's Degree in Fine Arts, specializing in photography and video art. Currently M.Glynska lives in Ivano-Frankivsk, and is actively involved in the cultural and social life of Ukraine.
The exhibition is displayed in the framework of the "Gallery-On-the-Go" project from the America House in Kyiv. Through Gallery-on-the-Go, America House “decentralizes” art exposure by sharing its permanent art collection with a wide range of art enthusiasts at the 27 Window on America Centers in regional cities throughout Ukraine.
The display was reviewed by WOA center patrons.
