Today’s session of the Gabfest Speaking Club (at Window on America center Dnipropetrovsk) was dedicated to the topic of Social Justice.
The United Nations' (UN) World Day of Social Justice is annually observed on February 20 to encourage people to look at how social justice affects poverty eradication. It also focuses on the goal of achieving full employment and support for social integration. Many organizations, including the UN and the International Labor Office, make statements on the importance of social justice for people.
We have watched several videos about the history of the human rights, the US issues on poverty, etc.
The Club members were asked to give the examples of social justice/injustice from their own experience.
The second part of the session was the traditional introductions ritual for the newcomers. The topic was serious, but the discussion was enjoyed by all the participants.
The number of participants – 25 persons.
Have a look at more pictures, please.
