All WOA’s patrons interested in studying in the USA receive advice about the procedures and the “Education USA” center in Dnipro.

Visitors of the "Window on America" Center who are interested in the opportunity to study in American colleges and universities took part in the Education Fair, which was held in the "Grand Hotel Ukraine" (Dnipropetrovsk). American guests (representatives of educational institutions) promoted their schools, explained the procedures (submission of documents, tests timing), focused on challenges and benefits of study in the USA.
The International Education Week organized by the US department of state and US department of education is showcased to the WOA’s patrons in the November book display «If you want to study in the USA».
The world known programs for academic and professional exchange are introduced to the WOA’s visitors through respective brochures and promotional materials: the Fulbright Program, IREX, the Humphrey fellowship. The book display of the Window On America center illustrates the educational opportunities in the USA. The stand also presents promotional materials about numerous American universities from various states.
WOA’s visitors, clubs’ members and all who want to get tertiary education in the US can learn more about the best educational institutions, the registration procedures, entrance exams timing, tuition fees system, etc.
Ukrainian applicants can learn about the possibility to obtain educational grants through various programs.
Within the framework of the “U.S. Art Residence in Dnipropetrovsk” project the students of school No. 141 major in studying foreign languages (with English as a priority language) visited the "Window on America" Center (Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine).
The objective of the visit was to introduce the students to the art of George Gershwin as a musical innovator with Ukrainian roots.
The WOA Head S. Usenko presented to them the “Window on America” Center and its free resources for studying English. Students were informed about the opportunity to study at an American university, if they have a high level of English language.They were also reminded about the hight student exchange program “Summer Work and Travel USA” and referred to respective Facebook page of the US Embassy in Kyiv.
The students watched inter-active slide show about the background and music of George Gershwin. The students were fascinated by the sounds of blues and musicals by George Gershwin.
To check the comprehension of the complicated material the students were asked to answer the questions of a quiz. They managed to give several correct answers, but they certainly need to learn more about opera in general.

The "Window on America" Center (Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine) presented a display of promotional materials about American universities. WOA’s visitors, clubs’ members and those who want to get tertiary education in the US can learn more about the best educational institutions, the registration procedures, entrance exams timing, tuition fees system, and the possibility of obtaining educational grants for Ukrainians.
Today’s session of the GABFEST speaking club (at Window on America center Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine) was dedicated to the International Education Week.
The highlight of the session was a Skype connection with Mr. Mykola Novak, participant of Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program (USA). Mykola shared with the group his experience of finding an opportunity to study Business Administration in the USA. The group asked him about exams and other procedures for the study, his impressions about life and learning culture in New Mexico. Mr. Novak expressed his readiness to help any Ukrainians with advice on search of grant programs and other procedures for studying in the USA.
The Club moderator introduced the American notion of “Ivy League” Universities. We read an article about it and watched several You Tube videos about atmosphere in the Ivy League Universities. The Club premises were decorated with several US Universities pennants and numerous brochures about Us Universities and Colleges.
The session was a success as it was educational and very informative.
